Favourite primer & foundations

I am constantly trying to find the perfect foundation that suits my skin & does what I need it to do. After trying many different foundations I have finally found two which are perfect for my skin, and of course, for flawless looking skin you need a good primer.

Priming is one of the most important parts of my everyday foundation routine. I have combination skin which is also quite sensitive, so finding a product that doesn't react with my skin is quite difficult. I used to use the Benefit Porefessional, which was good and did make my skin look quite matte and evened out my skin-tone, however I found that my make up would still disappear around my T-zone by midday.
After reading & hearing rave reviews about the Hourglass Veil primer I decided to try it myself.

On the Hourglass website it says "Veil Mineral oil free primer is a silky, weightless and multipurpose primer that goes beyond traditional formulations by concealing redness, minimising the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, it repels water to keep your make up looking freshly applied all day long." I honestly couldn't agree more with this. It has a silicone powdery feel it and dries quite quickly on your face which allows your foundation to be applied smoothly. It also lasts all day without fail. I put it on quite early in the morning and once I am home, it looks exactly how it did in the morning. I still get a tiny bit oily around my t-zone but it's hardly noticeable. I couldn't recommend this primer enough, however I would say its more for oily/combination skin types.

For foundations I have recently been using the Giorgio Armani lasting silk UV foundation & the Nars Sheer Glow.

Firstly, the Lasting Silk UV Foundation has a matte finish, which honestly stays matte all day. It has quite a light coverage but it is defiantly build-able for a more medium/ high coverage look without looking cakey on your skin. I also think the colour match is perfect which was a massive surprise to me as I did buy it online. I use the colour 4.5 which I think is similar to the Nars Deauville colour and  also similar to the Mac NW20. I find that this foundation also lasts me all day and I don't find myself needing to powder my t-zone half way through the day.
My second favourite foundation is Nars Sheer Glow. So many people love this foundation and it's totally understandable as it's defiantly one of the best. It has a dewy finish which looks amazing in the summer but never really looks oily. I would say it defiantly has a medium coverage which can also be built up. I find it doesn't last as well as the previous foundation and I usually top up my t-zone with powder towards the end of the day but nonetheless it is still beautiful. I have this foundation in Fiji which is a tiny bit too dark for the winter but is wonderful in the summer with a tan.
